I attended Temple University in Philadelphia, PA in pursuit of an electrical engineering degree. After two semesters, I left Philadelphia and moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in music. After many years of hard work and serious struggle, the prospects of a long term career in music began to sour. I found myself with a full-time position as an envelope stuffer for a mail order company. Graphic Design was becoming a growing passion of mine, and I believed that I could create a more compelling mail order catalog than the one offered by the firm's current agency. I put together a presentation, offered it to my employer and was immediately hired as the In-house Designer. With that presentation my career in the Design Arts was officially underway. While employed I created many types of printed materials and several web sites for the company until the business was sold. After a brief job at a small internet startup, I founded Silas Design. Nine years later I continue to grow, as does my client base and the quality of the work that is produced. Life is good.
